Dr. Ramachandran Ramanan is a professor in the College of Business Administration at the University of Notre Dame. He has been a Lilly Faculty Fellow (2003-04), an Arthur Anderson Faculty Fellow (1992-2004), and the assistant chair of the Department of Accountancy (1995-98). Ramachandran has also taught full-time at Northwestern University, the University of North Carolina, and in short-term programs at Oxford University during an academic career that spans three decades.
A multiple award winner, public speaker, and published author, Ramachandran began his professional career in manufacturing and corporate planning for Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd. of India, a firm that designs and manufactures sophisticated heavy engineering equipment. In addition to developing the company’s long-term business plans, he was also the liaison for U.S. firms that provided Bharat with technical expertise.
Ramachandran earned his doctorate in Accounting and Information Systems at Northwestern University, an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, and a Bachelor of Engineering at Annamalai University. He is a current member of the American Accounting Association.
